KY Trip = Success!
Just an FYI we are home!
Home never felt so sweet!!!
We had the greatest time and Christin was 100% surprised.
I am not going to lie, Garmin I hate you.
Friday we started out just fine on our way down until the Garmin led us astray, going through dirt/gravel roads in the sticks of I don't know where. It's a really straight shot of almost all interstate but we were so far into these directions that we had no choice to follow them, putting us on the road and extra hour at least. (extra bonding time right??) Adam kept telling me some psycho hacked into our Garmin and was leading us to their house, jerk. I was wigging out!
It was great Adam McDermott had been our communication the whole day as to where they were. He kept leaving the table all of a sudden when we'd call and Christin would make excuses like 'Oh must be work', etc. All the while her Mom,Dad,sister, and Adam were ALL in on it! When we finally came to Murray he gave us directions to The Big Apple bar where we walked in and she did a classic double take, mouth dropped, she knocked her chair over she got up so fast and she started running towards us. The bouncer ruined it for me a little bit, I was going to give her a hug and he grabbed my arm and demanded my ID. Lay off a min. dude geez! Haha! It was still so great, we all did so good keeping her in the dark, and Adam McDermott didn't get a lecture for so rudely leaving the table all night after all!! We visited over a couple of drinks then headed to her apt. for her last night there, and had to celebrate with a little champagne to toast all her hard work! We got to watch her walk across the stage, get a tour of Murray and all the places she's lived, worked, etc, it was neat to put faces to names and see where she was while we were talking for hours on end over the last 3 1/2 years! Then we took a back way out of Murray to Kentucky Lake. Adam has always wanted to see that so we got a tour of that before we headed home! I rode with Christin and Milly (my furry niece) the first couple of hours and the boys rode together to talk welding and guy stuff. We encountered some really heavy rain a couple of times but after that it was really smooth sailing! I swear to you we got off the interstate and it turned to 32 degrees and got sooo slick. I am so thankful we made it before that happened.
The whole weekend was fantastic but one of the best moments was holding my babes in my arms after missing them SO bad all weekend. I had some major separation anxiety! We didn't get home until 1045pm but I think they knew we'd be here soon b/c both we still up (or b/c we said we wanted to see them, one or the other right?).
Yep, Home Never Felt So Good!
And I am SO EXCITED TO HAVE MY BESTEST FRIEND EVER HOME!!!
Sorry this is so detailed, I just don't wanna forget a moment, it was a great time!
Hope you had a great weekend too!
